This weekend we went (again) to the Munich Zoo in Hellabrunn. During a bird demonstration, I manged to get some picture in. These birds, which are classified as raptors, are majestic. Seeing them in flesh is awe-inspiring. The show in itself was a bit difficult to follow because it was in German.
This eagle was a calm fellow. As he was bound with a leather strap, a bid to fly would violently yank the arm of the handler. When the eagle was let loose it was like a fighter jet strafing visitors.
And then came the Owl. I have no words to describe it. It was not flying but the way it was sitting was brilliant. I found its eyes very enchanting and decided to take pictures which would complement them. We have seen an Owl now here are its eyes.
Falcons are the fastest hunters and are brutal. Its prey does not know what hit it. This one was so fast that my camera could not capture it in flight. So here are some shots while it was sitting and eating out of the handlers hand.
Do visit the Tierpark Hellabrunn in you are in Munich, it is worth it.
