Wikipedia: “The Indian peacock has iridescent blue and green plumage. The peacock “tail”, known as a “train”, consists not of tail quill feathers, but highly elongated upper tail coverts. These feathers are marked with eye-spots, best seen when a peacock fans his tail.”
These birds were moving around freely in the Munich zoo. Moving from one enclosure to another.
The fact that they get food easily and do not have to dodge vehicles must keep them in the zoo.
I have been to this zoo a few times before but never saw these birds with their plumage in full glory.
Have nice day!
