A flat tyre on my bike has eluded me for more than a year. Some how in some corner of my mind I had a feeling that it is about time!
And so it was! More than half way to work, the was a small, almost reluctant “thup”, and then “phsssssss”. In less than 15 seconds I was looking at a torn tyre and a 3 km walk to work. Not exactly how I wanted to start the day.
The tyre looked pretty hopeless, so there was no reason to try and fix it right there and there. But common sense tends to elude me when I am in a mode to try and fix something which is seemingly not fixable. It is just the feeling of, “Well what worse can happen?”
So 30 mins later I was left with dirty and cold hands, a wasted puncture kit and of-course still flat rear wheel.
Googled a bit and found this shop HAVEABIKE. From past experiences with my car or any service in Germany, I am a bit apprehensive to go to any service center. To my untrained Indian and specifically Punekar mind it feels like a ripoff. Fortunately these guys were pretty fair and just charged 13€ for the labor and gave be a free servicing coupon.
So, by afternoon I had the bike done and the weather started to change too. So after the, there is always a first time experience, the ride back home was a wonderful sunny ride. Believe me it was marvelous. Here is a view outside my office window just before leaving.
